SAUGERTIES, N.Y. (AP) -- A man tells police his wife threw bleach on him and red paint on his car, and she says he roughed her up and damaged her cell phone.
Both face criminal mischief and other charges for the Saturday incident.
The Middletown Times Herald-Record reports (http://bit.ly/TSdkSn ) that Saugerties (SAW-gur-teez) police arrested Douglas and Lorie Smith, age 57 and 54, after the husband walked into the police station covered in paint and bleach.
Douglas is charged with harassment and Lorie is charged with menacing. Both were charged with misdemeanor criminal mischief and received orders of protection against each other.
Police confiscated a number of guns from their home in Saugerties, 40 miles south of Albany.
They were released after each posted $500 bail.
