BENNINGTON -- Bennington firefighters and emergency personnel responded to a structure fire shortly after 10 p.m. Friday at the recycling center building behind Bennington Beverage Outlet on Northside Drive.
According to scanner reports, the separate building was "fully involved" as fire crews arrived and began to set up a fire perimeter around the area and ran hose lines. The fire appeared to be out before 11 p.m. but the building was heavily damaged.
Firefighters were attempting to have utility crews cut off power to the structure around 10:30 p.m. No further information was available as of press time, but newsroom personnel were at the scene and will file updates on the Banner website and Facebook and Twitter.
