GREENWICH, N.Y. -- Authorities reported a 55-year-old Greenwich man was arrested on a sexual abuse charge alleging inappropriate contact with a child.
In a written release Thursday, state police said Alfred L. Burch of State Route 29 had been charged with first-degree sexual abuse following accusations that he had inappropriate sexual contact with a child who was less than 11 years old.
Police said the child was an acquaintance of Burch. The investigation is continuing with additional charges pending, according to authorities, and anyone with information is asked to contact the New York State Police in Greenwich at 518-692-3015.
Burch was arraigned in Greenwich town court and remanded to the Washington County Jail in lieu of $50,000 cash or $100,000 bond. He is due back in court later this month.
