WINHALL-- Police said that a Bennington man suspected of causing a fire that destroyed a warming hut at the Stratton Recreation Park in November was arrested Jan. 30 in Manchester. John C. WOODFORD --The Woodford school board recently warned a fiscal year 2011 elementary budget that shows a decrease of nearly $31,000 from the current budget. The budget of $465,751, which will be voted on from the floor March 1, is down 6.2 percent from this year's budget and decreases the cost per equalized pupil more than $1,400, or about 15 percent, to a modest $7,843 per equalized pupil.   Full Story

BENNINGTON -- A veterinary clinic specializing in equine care has moved to Bennington from the Northshire area. Thursday February 4, 2010 HOOSICK, N.Y. -- A man who pleaded guilty in January to stabbing a horse to death was sentenced Thursday in Rensselaer County Court to serve between 3 1/2 to 7 years in prison, as per a plea agreement. BENNINGTON -- It's estimated that Vermont will need morethan1,000 temporary,part-time workers to go door-to-door collecting data for the 2010 census. Ellen Biddle, a recruiting manager for the Census Bureau, said Tuesday that job applications are still being taken.
