Post-election ‘Thank You'
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of those who voted for me and offered words of encouragement during my run for a Bennington seat on the Mount Anthony Union School Board.
Although I did not succeed in my quest for re-election, I appreciate the confidence shown by your support in my ability to put the interest of our kids first and to help move our district forward toward excellence. I especially want to thank the many individuals who endorsed me and my hard-working friends and family who provided me guidance and support.
It has been a privilege and pleasure to serve on the MAU school board for the past 8 years. In the upcoming months, I plan to continue to follow our schools movement forward as the board is faced with challenging times and tough decisions that will be necessary to carry on the work that has already begun.
It is with great sadness that I exit for now but hope to continue to offer my support to our kids and the school district.
Thank you all for your past, present and future support!
ROBERT SHERMAN JR.
Bennington End of life ad wasn't fair
I don't think it fair in the issue Saturday-Sunday, March 23-24 the ad saying Vermonters Support End of Life Choice. It is a personal decision. There are options and all should be made aware of those options. Also the brain is a complex organ and mental problems such as dementia can cloud a person's thinking.
Questions should come to a person am I ready to meet my Maker who created my body? Have I searched the Scriptures and prayed to know what God has in mind for me?
The government already has to much control over our lives and under Obamacare the government may think it cheaper for us to die than provide care to allow for a productive life. Is an emotionally healthy person ready to die?
