Fill your bowl
Help stock a local food pantry while eating tasty soups in beautiful, hand-made bowls that you get to take home Saturday night at the third annual Empty Bowls event at the Hoosick Falls High School cafeteria.
From 6 to 8 p.m., you may choose one bowl from hundreds of beautiful bowls, hand-crafted for the event by students in the Hoosick community, and fill it up with soup for $10. The soup choices will include, tortellini, minestrone, lemon chicken and dill, and beef and barley. There will also be a clear broth soup, a cream-based soup and a vegetarian soup.
All proceeds from the event will benefit the Hoosick Area Church Association (HACA) Food Pantry.
Tickets are available at the door — 1187 NY-22, Hoosick Falls, N.Y. — and soup and bowls are available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Get your fill of pancakes
Stop by the West Hoosick Fire Department from 7:30 to 11 a.m. Sunday for an all-you-can-eat breakfast and a free photo opportunity with the fire chief.
The menu includes pancakes, french toast, eggs, sausage, bacon, toast, juice, coffee, tea and hot chocolate.

The Battenkill Grange 487 will also hold a pancake breakfast from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Sunday at Bailey Hall on Ice Pond Road in Arlington.
The menu includes pancakes, real maple syrup, scrambled eggs, sausage, home fries, sausage gravy and biscuits with coffee, milk and juice. The cost is $7 for adults and $4 for children younger than 12. For more information, call 802-375-2518.
Get your weekly fresh produce at the Bennington Farmers Market from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church, 601 Main St.

Join Whetstone Brewery and The Moment Records on Saturday to celebrate Record Store Day 2016.
To celebrate the day, the local record store — which will have more than 150 exclusive Record Store Day titles on order, along with its regular stock of "thousands upon thousands" of vinyl LP's, 45's and 78's — and the brewery have created "Hop Fidelity." The beer is a double IPA brewed up just this once for the celebration.
Stop by the shop at 143 Main St., Brattleboro, starting at 3 p.m. for a free tasting. Want more? You can also purchase 12-ounce pours. Local chocolatiers Tavernier Chocolates will also be on hand with some mendiants to be handed out during the tasting.
