GREENWICH, N.Y. -- Bennington residents Paul Lambert, Nicholas Lasoff, and Kerry Ryer-Parke will be featured soloists as the Battenkill Chorale presents "Hallelujah!", featuring Handel’s "Messiah, Part 2," and Bach Cantata 140 "Wachet auf" ("Sleepers Wake") with chorus, soloists, and Baroque orchestra, on April 27 and 28, both concerts at 3 p.m., at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 35 Hill Street, Greenwich, N.Y. Also on the program is "The Art of the Ground Round" by Peter Schickele’s alter ego, P.D.Q Bach. Tickets are $15 and can be reserved by calling 518-692-7458 or emailing email@example.com. Ryer-Parke, soprano soloist for the "Messiah, Part 2," is a versatile performer of early music, oratorio, opera, jazz, and contemporary music. She has appeared frequently with choirs and orchestras in the tri-state area and is an Artist Associate in Voice at Williams College and Director of the Bennington Children’s Chorus.
Tenor Lambert and baritone Lasoff are soloists in Bach’s Cantata 140 "Wachet auf" ("Sleepers Wake.") Lambert has been guest conductor and soloist with the Bennington County Choral Society and is the former choral director at Mount Anthony Union High School, the Bennington Children’s Chorus, and First Congregational Church, in North Adams, Mass. Lasoff has sung recitals in New England and the Midwest, appeared as soloist with choirs in Bennington, Middlebury, Boston, and Freiburg, Germany, taught German at Bennington College, and is the founder of Lasoff Landscape Design.
Featured Visual Artist Jacob Houston will have several original paintings, canvas prints, and framed giclee prints from his collection available for sale at the concerts, with 20 percent of the proceeds going to the Battenkill Chorale.
