DORSET -- The Dorset Players announce that there will be a meeting for all potential directors for the 10th Annual One Act Festival (taking place this April) as well as the 2013-2014 season. The meeting will take place on Wednesday, Feb. 6, at 6:30 p.m. at the Dorset Playhouse. If possible, aspiring directors are asked to bring script copies for the plays being submitted for consideration and be prepared to speak about the piece.

Are you ready to direct? Each season, the Dorset Players present a full-length play in October, December, March and a musical in May. The December show is intended for presentation to area children. To be considered, each hopeful must have produced, directed or stage-managed another play for the Dorset Players, or have directed a full-length play at another locale. Those who do not meet these criteria will be encouraged to direct a one act play in April.

Would you like to direct on a smaller scale? This could be the perfect opportunity to direct one or more actors in a one-act play, comedy or drama, from a minimum of 10 minutes to a maximum of 45 minutes in length with minimal sets and costumes. Co-producers Paul Brinker and Christy Vogel would be happy to help you find a piece to direct if you don’t have anything particular in mind. Absolutely no experience is necessary, just come to the directors meeting for your chance to get involved!

If you have any questions, please call Sheila Conway at the Dorset Players business office at 802-867-5570.
