NORTH BENNINGTON - Vermont Arts Exchange (VAE) celebrates 20 years of spooky, spirited, festive family fun in its 20th-Anniversary Halloween Parade on Wednesday, Oct. 31, beginning at 3:30 p.m.
Marchers, monsters, artists, musicians, dancers, drummers, jugglers, friends and neighbors of all ages dress up and promenade through town, accompanied by music, dancing and large sculptural costumes. A fall favorite for two decades, this wildly popular event has drawn hundreds of participants and visitors each year. All are welcome to join the free fun, or cheer and support from the sidelines.
Participants gather at VAE's Sage Street Mill at 3 p.m. before meandering down Sage Street, through the village of North Bennington and back to the mill for cider, doughnuts and a special blazing sculptural bonfire. Revelers of all ages are invited to compete in a Halloween Costume Contest, with prizes awarded for imaginative ensembles!
Bennington food truck Jimmy Joe's Curbside Grill will sell hearty homemade fare, including "Mom's mac & cheese," clam chowder and full grill menu.
Vermont Arts Exchange is located at the Sage Street Mill, 29 Sage Street, in North Bennington.
