MANCHESTER -- W. Vanderlip & Co. will host the opening of "Home Grown" -- an art show celebrating local artists including Donnel Barnum, Leslie Parke, Leslie Peck, Christopher Pierce, Brian Sweetland, Kathie Thompson, Thomas Torak, and Mark Tougias -- on Friday, Oct. 5, with an opening reception Saturday, Oct. 6 from 3 to 7 p.m., through Oct. 14, at a "pop up" gallery at 4361 Main St., near Mother Myrick's.

The reception is free and open to the public.

Among the works on display will be Parke's "Battenkill Place Setting," and oil on canvas that she said was "a painting of my Grandfather's fine British China, which I put in the Battenkill River."

W. Vanderlip & Co., also offers gallery tours of artist studios any time of year, as part of partnership with the Land Rover Experience. Studio tours include the artists from the Home Grown art show along with Arthur Jones, Elizabeth Torak, Dan Mosheim and Will Mosheim. Tour guests will have exclusive access to the artists' studios, collections, and available works. The customized excursion package includes the Land Rover with driver/instructor, personal art guide, a three studio tour of your choice, refreshments and lunch.
