WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- The Sterling and Francine Clark Art Institute, again this summer, will present free family-friendly outdoor summer concerts on Tuesdays in July beginning at 6 p.m. This week’s offering is Misty Blues -- an exciting band that infuses classic blues sounds with rock and folk songs.

The other concerts in the series include, on July 17, the bluegrass band Banjo Dan and the Mid-nite Plowboys, a band known for energy, variety, and humor; then, on July 24, the Latin guitar world fusion band Incendio will be on stage.

Barbecue fare will be available for purchase, and the galleries will remain open for visitors until the start of music. In the event of rain, concerts will be held in the auditorium.

Misty Blues, according to supplied material, is an exciting and magnetic band that infuses classic blues sounds into rock and folk songs. The band features lead vocalist Gina Coleman, guitarist and vocalist Jason Webster, bass guitarist and vocalist Bill Patriquin, and drummer Kali Baba McConnell. The band has produced two albums, "Electric Juke Joint" and "Roadhouse Revival," a danceable twist on traditional gospel music. On their website, Misty Blues states that they "pay homage to the older blues music made popular by the bold and brassy women of its time while still paying respect to the more contemporary female artists that carry on their rich tradition."

Since the 1970s, Banjo Dan and the Mid-nite Plowboys have consistently delivered some of the finest, most dynamic, and most original bluegrass music ever heard in this corner of the country. The band features Dan Linder on banjo, Willy Linder on mandolin, Alan Davis on guitar, John Drake on bass, and Phil Bloch on fiddle. They have a reputation for soulful lead singing, spot-on harmonies, fiery picking, and performances packed with energy, variety, and humor.

The Latin guitar world fusion group Incendio performs a unique alchemy of composition, technique, and performance, combining seductive melodies with explosive improvisatory journeys. They have released seven critically acclaimed international CDs, with the bold, romantic Spanish guitar at the heart of every track and its timeless sound recast in powerful modern arrangements.
