BENNINGTON >> Local coalition, Alliance for Community Transformations (ACT), has launched the second phase of its community survey on drug use in Bennington with a special insert in the Bennington Banner.
A now annual project, ACT produces a community-wide survey of adults on their opinions of drug use in the Bennington area. The group uses the data to help guide their work in the community to implement drug prevention activities.
ACT Director, Kiah Morris said, "This survey is so important as it tells us so much more than what traditional data might. The survey help us to hear directly from local residents what their concerns about drug use in our area are and how confident they are about community's ability to tackle our challenges."
An online version of the confidential survey was released by the group through email and social media in late August. The second phase of the survey launch will include paper versions of the survey that can be returned to the Town of Bennington Offices, Bennington Free Library and the Bennington Recreation Center.
All who complete the survey will have an opportunity to enter to win one of three prizes at no charge, a family fun package that includes a free bowling at Bennington Lanes and tickets to Bennington Cinemas, two tickets to see Elvis Costello in Albany in concert, and free tickets to the NASCAR truck series race in New Hampshire.
The survey and contest will remain open until September 13, 2016 when the winners will be selected. More information about the survey and the results of the 2015 survey can be found on their website at actbennington.org
