Memorial Day Parade: Line up by 10:45 a.m. on School Street. Parade at 11 a.m. Ends at the memorial at Fisher Elementary School.


Memorial Day Parade: Line up at 11 a.m. at the former Jr. high school on Main Street. Parade begins at noon, turns north at the Four Corners and ends at the Vermont Veterans Home where there will be a brief service.


Memorial Day events: The community is invited to attend the Dorset Memorial Day Service and Parade. The service will begin at 1 p.m. at the United Church of Dorset and East Rupert, 143 Church St. At the end of the service the parade will march to the Maple Hill Cemetery and then return to the Dorset Green for the lowering of the flag. A Pot-Luck Community picnic will be held on the Dorset Church lawn after the event. Please bring a salad or dessert to share and we'll provide the hotdogs! Hoosick Falls, N.Y.

Memorial Day rites: Begins with the raising of the American flag by Edward "Ike" Powers commander of the American Legion at the Maple Grove Cemetery, followed by the flag raising at the St. Marys Cemetery. At 8 a.m. the flag will be raised at Wood Memorial Park with a salute by the American Legion and Auxiliary. At 8:15 a.m., the American Legion accompanied by the Hoosick Falls High School Band will march from Wood Park to the Shop Bridge to honor the men of the Navy who lost their lives at sea. The group will then march to the Civil War Monunment at the junction of Classic and High Streets to honor the dead of the Civil War at 8:40 a.m. At 9:15 a.m., the Legion wth the American Legion and local veterans will assemble at the World Word I Memorial in Wood Park. Wreaths will be placed at the World War I, World War II, Korea and Vietnam Monuments. The chaplain of the American Legion will then offer a prayer. A parade consisting of two divisions will assemble at 9:15 a.m. and will step of at 10 a.m.



Services: VFW Post 6471 of Manchester will conduct Memorial Day honors and ceremony May 30 at Dellwood cemetery at 10 a.m. We will then proceed to Factory Point Cemetery for services at 11 a.m. and concluding with a wreath laying and lunch to follow at the Manchester VFW Post all are invited. At 1 p.m. there will also be services conducted at Dorset church 1 p.m. followed by a parade to the Dorset cemetery for honors to be preformed there.


Pancakes then parade: Come to breakfast at the Readsboro Lions Park for an outdoor Pancake Breakfast, 7 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Plain pancakes, blueberry or chocolate chip, local maple syrup, plus hash browns, sausages and drinks. $12 Adults, children under 5, $3 or Big Boy all you can eat $20. Maple syrup will be available to purchase and we will also have a 50/50 raffle. All proceeds will benefit the Bullock Building Restoration Project. Hosted by Readsboro Hometown Redevelopment, Inc. Then join us on Main Street at the Bandstand for Memorial Day Ceremonies and parade.


Norshaft Memorial Day Parade: Line up at 8:30 a.m. starting at Cole Hall on Buck Hill Road. Parade begins at 9 a.m., crosses Route 7A, down Church Street, left on Cleveland Avenue and back to Route 7A. Prior to the start, Linda Meskun and family will place a wreath on the Honor Roll. A wreath will also placed in the Village Cemetery to honor firefighters and first responders who have given their lives. Refreshments will be served at the Shaftsbury Fire House following the parade.
