BENNINGTON >> The Center for Women & Enterprise(CWE) is proud to have been selected by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) to establish and operate the Women's Business Center (WBC) in Vermont and provide services to the growing number of women entrepreneurs.

CWE is a nationally recognized non-profit organization dedicated to helping women (and men) navigate the world of business ownership with education, training and technical assistance. CWE also operates centers in Boston and Westborough, MA, Nashua, NH and Providence, RI, and serves over 7,000 clients each year.

The Center for Women & Enterprise officially opened in Boston in 1995 with founding grants from the U.S. Small Business Administration and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. This small, local organization served a few hundred women and set the foundation for great things to come. CWE celebrated its 20th anniversary last year, and has provided services to over 30,000 people.

"We plan to work with the SBA and other partners to bring our programs and services to communities throughout the state through our Community Classroom program."

CWE is proud to announce that Gwen Pokalo has been hired as Program Manager of the Women Business Center in Vermont. She brings passion and experience to working with entrepreneurs in the state. Gwen was recognized by Vermont Business Magazine with their "Rising Star" award in 2014 for her commitment to business growth, professional excellence and involvement in the community. Currently she is working with CWE Senior Director of Program & Service Delivery, Carmen Diaz-Jusino to research locations and reach out to potential partners and key officials who support women in business.
