MANCHESTER >> Discover some of the world's most spectacular and remote wilderness frontiers on April 3 at 4 p.m. at the Equinox Village, when Expedition Rafting Guide Steve Merrow shares his experiences on Alaska's Alsek and Tatshenshini Rivers. The illustrated talk is sponsored by Equinox Village and hosted by Manchester Community Library.
These remote natural highways flow through majestic glaciers, flotillas of icebergs, and stunning landscapes that are home to grizzly bears, bald eagles, moose, wolves, and mountain goats as well as sumptuous blankets of wildflowers.
Originally from Shaftsbury, VT, Merrow has been guiding rivers in Alaska since 2008 and possesses a wealth of knowledge about rivers and Southeast Alaska's natural and cultural history. "I remain in awe of this place and find inspiration in the places I guide and the people that join me. The Alsek and Tatshenshini Rivers are the places I am most passionate about." Merrow's passions lay in photography, water, and wild places.
The program is free and open to the public. Equinox Village is located at 49 Maple Street in Manchester Center, VT. For more information, contact Cindy Waters at the Library, 802-362-2607.
