MONTPELIER >> If you are going ice fishing soon, planning a family fishing trip next summer, or want to plan for deer season next fall — you will want to get a copy of the 2016 Vermont Hunting, Fishing and Trapping Laws and Guide, available where licenses are sold and from Vermont Fish and Wildlife offices statewide.

Also known as the "lawbook," it has all of the new regulations, 2016 season dates, two free fishing days, a state map showing Wildlife Management Units, the species of fish found in lakes and rivers, and a list of Fish & Wildlife personnel with their phone numbers, as well as lots of other helpful information.
