Support local libraries at the Horse Show

MANCHESTER -- The public is encouraged to come out and enjoy the Vermont Summer Festival's Horse Show competitions in East Dorset, Wednesdays through Sundays, through August 10 and show your support for local libraries at the same time.

The spectator gate is once again staffed by community volunteers. This year's fundraising will go entirely towards supporting area libraries and community literacy initiatives. The fundraising effort is being spearheaded by the Mark Skinner/Manchester Community Library which is in the midst of building a new 21st-century library which will be a center for education and enrichment, and a hub for the discovery and delivery of information for people of all ages in the Northshire.

Joining the Mark Skinner/Manchester Community Library volunteers, and sharing in the proceeds from gate admissions, will be representatives from the following area libraries: Martha Canfield Memorial Library (Arlington), Winhall Memorial Library, South Londonderry Free Library, Dorset Village Public Library, R. K. Kittay Public Library (Rupert), Pawlet Public Library, and Wilder Memorial Library (Weston).

Berkshire Bank employees will also be volunteering at the gate to show their support of the irreplaceable services that libraries and library staff provide to users in our towns.
