Choral concert

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- The Northern Berkshire Chorale, directed by Andrea Goodman, will present its spring concert at 7:30 p.m. in Thompson Memorial Chapel on the Williams College campus. The program will feature Bob Chilcott's Requiem accompanied by an instrumental ensemble. This newly composed Requiem echoes the great requiems of Durufle and Faure with an added touch of Purcell. Also on the program are the "5 Mystical Songs" by Ralph Vaughan Williams with baritone Robert Szczepaniak.

Concert by string quartet

WILLIAMSTOWN -- The Williams College Department of Music will present the Borromeo String Quartet in concert at 8 p.m. in Brooks-Rogers Recital Hall on the Williams campus. These free events are open to the public.

The concert features the music of Bela Bartok. The Borromeo String Quartet plays three of the Hungarian composer's string quartets: No. 2, 4, and 6.

Gentle yoga session

Williams College to host the Metaphysical Society conference

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- This weekend Williams will host the sixty-fifth Annual Metaphysical Society of America Conference.

On Friday, the hours will run from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Event is open to the public and held at Griffin Hall, 3, 844 Main St.

The Metaphysical Society of American is an organization of professional philosophers that meets once annually to discuss issues of fundamental concern in all of the major areas of philosophical reflection. Pownal Elementary musical

POWNAL -- "Dinosaurs before Dark" is the musical playing this weekend at Pownal Elementary School. The musical is based on author Mary Pope Osborne's "Magic Tree House" book of the same name.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. The play begins at 7 p.m. both nights. The costs are: $2 for K-12 students and $3 for adults. This is a play for all audiences. Refreshments will also be on sale before the play begins and at intermission.
