Public lecture series
WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- This March, Williams College will sponsor its annual Faculty Lecture Series. The aim of the series is to present big ideas beyond disciplinary boundaries. The six lectures of the series wiere scheduled for Feb. 13, 20, 27, and March 6, 13, and 20. All lectures will be held at 4:15 p.m. in Wege Auditorium, Thompson Chemistry, with a reception to follow in Schow Atrium. The lectures are free and open to the public.
Associate Professor of Geosciences Lisa Gilbert will present the final talk on March 20, titled "Adventures in the Deep Sea: Rocks Younger than You."
Pownal Legion post bingo
POWNAL -- American Legion Post 90 holds bingo on Thursdays. Doors open at 5 p.m., and bingo starts at 6:30 p.m., promptly. There will be two progressive games. A snack bar will be available.
Bennington Free Clinic
BENNINGTON -- The Bennington Free Clinic is held each Thursday starting at 6 p.m. This clinic is for uninsured people 18 years of age or older, who would otherwise fall through the cracks of our fractured health care system. It is located in the First Baptist Church at 601 Main St. Call 802-447-3700 for an appointment to be seen.
Fresh Air Fund day
ARLINGTON -- Local host families will celebrate Fresh Air Fund Day by creating cookie grams to send to their Fresh Air "city children" in New York City.
CAMBRIDGE, N.Y. -- At 6:30 p.m. the Harlem Rockets will take on the Cambridge Central School faculty "All-Stars" in basketball. The game, a fundraiser for the CCS Class of 2018, is full of audience participation, and the halftime show will include 20 to 30 kids from the audience testing their basketball skills.
Tickets are $6 in advance, and can be ordered through O'Hearns
Pharmacy as well as the CCS K-6 and 7-12 offices. Tickets will cost $7 at the door.
Discussion on mushrooms
MANCHESTER -- Northshire Bookstore at 7 p.m. will host talks on organic food and gourmet mushrooms.
Alan Benoit will start by sharing his favorite tasty finds, including the treats he has harvested in nearby forests and fields. Next, local AmeriCorps member Lynnette Volden will teach how to forage, cook, and store the United States' most easily hunted and delicious mushrooms, including tips on what to look for when to find them and how to make your haul last through the winter. She will even share her recipes for wild mushroom lasagna and risotto.
Long Trail School students exhibit at Equinox Village
MANCHESTER CENTER -- All are invited to view the International Baccalaureate Visual Arts Exhibit of Long Trail School students at 5:30 p.m. at Equinox Village.
This spring, the Gallery at Equinox Village will feature seven young artists who use their work to express very different themes. The opening event is free and open to the public. RSVP to 802-362-4061 by Thursday, March 20. The show will be on display fro, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily from Friday, March 28, until Monday, May 12.
Senior Center activities
BENNINGTON -- The Senior Center is offering bone builders from 10 to 11:30 a.m., RSVP; quilting from 1 to 3 p.m. and beginner belly dance from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Also this week, a trip to Boston Seafood restaurant in North Adams from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Mass for Bereaved Parents on Tuesday
BENNINGTON -- A Mass for Bereaved Parents will be held starting at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 25, at Sacred Heart St. Francis de Sales Church, at 238 Main St.
This special Mass is being offered for all parents who grieve the loss of a child, whether before birth, as an infant, during childhood, or as an adult.
You will have an opportunity to inscribe your child's name in a Book of Remembrance that will be brought up to the altar for this Mass. The book will be prominently displayed in the Bishop Brady Center Chapel and all will be remembered in Mass daily.
