Travel and tour night

Town revitalization workshop
BENNINGTON -- The Brattleboro Development Credit Corporation, Windham Regional Commission, and Bennington County Regional Commission are presenting a village and town revitalization workshop at the Bennington Firehouse, located on River Street, at 6:30 p.m.
This event is open to anyone who is organizing or interested in organizing to create a more resilient village or town center economy. The evening will lead off with Leanne Tingay, downtown program coordinator of the Vermont Downtown Program, who will provide an overview of successful marketing tools used in Vermont and the nation.
A panel comprised of Lisa Sullivan, past president and current board member of Mount Snow Valley Chamber; executive directors: Berta Maginniss, Manchester and Mountains Chamber; Joann Erenhouse, Bennington Area Chamber; and Kate O'Conner, Brattleboro Area Chamber, will be on hand to field questions from the audience and share some of their best practices for marketing and event development. Rounding out the meeting will be a status update on the Southern Vermont
Sustainable Marketing Program and next action steps. Laura Sibilia, director of economic development at Brattleboro Development Credit Corp. will facilitate the final segment.

Homebuyer orientation with TRIP
GRAFTON, N.Y. -- Thinking about buying a home in Rensselaer County? This informational program with experts from TRIP (Troy Rehabilitation and Improvement Program) will look at the
advantages and disadvantages of home ownership, qualifying for a mortgage, and costs to expect during the homebuying process. You will also learn about TRIP's Pre-Purchase Program and First Time Homebuyer Grants. Young Woman's Softball signups
BENNINGTON -- The Bennington Young Woman's Softball signups will be held at the Bennington Fire House on March 11 from 6 to 7 p.m. This is open to all girls 6-12 years old as of Jan. 1, 2014. Rotary's annual Italian Night to benefit Oldcastle
BENNINGTON -- The Bennington Rotary Club is planning its 19th annual Italian Night, this year to benefit Oldcastle Theatre Company, on Wednesday, March 26, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Bennington Elks Club, on Washington Avenue.
This candlelight Italian Night dinner will include spaghetti and meatballs, stuffed shells, tossed salad, bread and a dessert. A cash bar will be available. All this and live entertainment for $10, children $5 and no charge for children 3 and under.
Tickets are available at the door, from any Rotarian, and at the Oldcastle box office on Main Street.
