PITTSFIELD, Mass. -- The Berkshire Community College (BCC) Foundation will accept scholarship applications for students who will enter a degree or certificate program at BCC in the fall, starting March 10. Scholarships, which are for use only at BCC, can be used toward tuition, fees, books or other academic materials.
Scholarships are awarded through a competitive review process which takes into consideration academic promise, community service, financial need and demonstrated leadership abilities. In addition, some scholarships are restricted to students pursuing various fields of study.
Students may access the online application at www.berkshirecc.edu/scholarships (beginning March 10). The deadline is April 14.
The BCC Foundation is a non-profit corporation established to encourage and receive gifts in support of the mission of the college. Nearly $250,000 in scholarships will be awarded for the 2014-15 academic year.
All students planning on attending BCC in the fall who have maintained satisfactory academic progress are encouraged to apply. As part of the application, students are required to submit an essay about their academic and career goals, acquire a recommendation from a teacher, guidance counselor or employer and submit their transcript.
