Deadlines for annual
CAMBRIDGE, N.Y. -- Cambridge Central School District Clerk Kate Mattison has released the calendar for the school district's annual budget vote to be held in May. Petitions to place a proposition on the ballot at the annual budget vote in May must be received in the District Clerk's Office no later than 4 p.m. on Monday, March 7. The annual budget hearing will be held on Tuesday, May 13. The annual budget vote and election will be held on Tuesday, May 20, from noon to 8 p.m.
Texas Hold ‘em
HOOSICK FALLS, N.Y. -- A Texas Hold'Em Tournament will be held at The Armory on Friday, March 7. Doors open at 6 p.m. and play starts at 6:30 p.m. The buy-in is $35 with an option for a $10 add-on, plus a $5 high hand pot. Newcomers and experienced players are welcome. BENNINGTON -- Contra dancing will be held at the One World Conservation Center on South Street, from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. All dances are taught by caller Luke Donforth, and beginners are welcome. Come with or without a partner. Admission is $10. Music by David Kaynor, George Wilson and Selma Kaplan.
STRATTON -- Stratton Mountain and The Washed Up Cup bring you The Vermont Open, an event designed for snowboarders by snowboarders. Over 20,000 in prize money. The competition is open to all snowboarders and designed for amateurs, juniors, pros and snowboarding's legends to compete in the same arena. Registration begins at 6 p.m. on Friday, March 7, and again from 8 to 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 8. Competitions and entertainment will take place all weekend. Clogging class signups
BENNINGTON -- The Wild Country Cloggers are pleased to announce they are holding signups during the month of March for a new introductory level class called, "This is Clogging." The class will run for 10 weeks and is set to begin on Monday, April 14, at 6:30 p.m. The instructors for the course will be Wild Country's lead instructor, John Morton, and his assistants, Richard and Raymond Smith, who have a collective total of 56 years of clogging experience.
"This is Clogging" will run on Monday nights from 6:30 to 7:15 p.m., at the Dance Mill, located at 160 Belmont Ave., on the 4th floor in the South Wing of the Vermont Mill Properties and is open to all levels and ages. Students will learn fundamental clogging steps and the essentials they need in becoming a clog dancer. Some spare shoes will on site for use during class or comfortable footwear with a nonskid marking sole are allowed. Cost for the 10-week session is $15 per person or $30 per family (minimum of 3 family members required). At the end, participants may sign up for Wild Country's regular clogging programs or have the option of returning in the fall during regular enrollment.

Rotary's annual Italian Night to benefit Oldcastle
BENNINGTON -- The Bennington Rotary Club is planning its 19th annual Italian Night, this year to benefit Oldcastle Theatre Company on Wednesday, March 26, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Bennington Elks Club, Washington Avenue

POWNAL -- If you are a Pownal or North Pownal resident with a child who will be five years old on or before Aug. 31, Pownal Elementary School will hold an informational Parent Night on Thursday, April 3, at 6 p.m. in the school library. Call the school and give your name and your child's name. Attend this important meeting to learn about the Kindergarten program and to schedule an appointment for registration for your child. Kindergarten registration sessions will be held at Pownal School on April 10 and 11.
