Lions meeting

BENNINGTON -- The Bennington Lions will hold their March Board of Directors Meeting on Tuesday, March 4 starting at 5:30 p.m. in the TD Bank Conference Room. All members are encouraged to attend.

Reading program

HOOSICK FALLS, N.Y. -- "Fizz Boom Read" is the New York state reading program for the summer. Cheney Library will be using this theme for the Children's Story Time beginning March 4 at 10 a.m. This six-week session will run each Tuesday through April 8. Preschool children 2 and older with their caregiver will enjoy these programs. There will be stories, songs, crafts, and of course snacks. This is a time for young children to get together with each other and have fun.

Grief over loss of a child support group

BENNINGTON -- A confidential and free grief support group will be held for any parent living with a loss of a child (any age), due to a death. This group meets every first Tuesday of the month at 6 p.m., at the Second Congregational Church on Hillside Street. For information, call 802-688-4557.

Gloria Steinem to speak at MCLA

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts will host writer, lecturer, editor and feminist activist Gloria Steinem in the next Public Policy Lecture, "The Progression of Feminism: Where are we going?" It will take place at 7 p.

Bereavement support group

Bingo Tuesdays at Moose Lodge

BENNINGTON -- Bingo is held every Tuesday at the Bennington Moose Lodge. Doors open at 5 p.m. Food and refreshments will be available.

Bingo at Arlington Legion post

ARLINGTON -- Arlington American Legion Post No. 69 will host bingo. Doors open at 6 p.m. and bingo begins at 7 p.m. Any questions, call 802-375-6157. Bingo is being held the first Tuesday and third Tuesday from October to May 2014. Come and have some fun with your friends.

Story Time at Cheney Library

HOOSICK FALLS, N.Y. -- Cheney Library holds a story time for preschoolers and their caregivers on Tuesdays at 10 a.m. Several of the classic tales and songs will be offered. There will be crafts and snacks. Plan to come with your preschool child.

Meditation for Everyone

BENNINGTON -- Meditation is held on Tuesday evenings from 7 to 8 p.m. at The Bennington Free Library. There is a $1 requested contribution if possible. Beginning and experienced meditators are welcome. Chairs are available. If you wish to sit on a cushion, bring one.

VPR will provide continuing

coverage of town meeting day

VERMONT -- Vermont's town meeting day on Tuesday, March 4, will be on the air as well as online.

Listeners can hear updates during VPR newscasts throughout the day, and during a live special hosted by Bob Kinzel beginning at 7 p.m. with results and analysis from reporters around the state. VPR News will also be posting town meeting day news to Twitter using the hashtags #VPRNews and #tmdvt.

Listeners are invited to join the conversation with results from their communities, on the air, at VPR.net and via social media.

On Wednesday, VPR will follow up throughout the day with a look at how school budgets fared around Vermont, and the results of other local votes, such as the Moran plant item in Burlington.
