Pownal Town Office, 6:30 p.m.
Amendment to the Solid Waste Implementation Plan for a new facility: TAM, Inc. is proposing to convert the former saw mill at 171 Church St. to a recycling facility. Tam, Inc. received approval from the Pownal Development Review Board on Jan. 29. Materials will include recyclables that would be sorted for distribution as commodoties such as plastic, corrugated cardboard and others. The facility would also be used for the seperation of materials from construction and demolition debris including cardboard, metals, clead woods and plastics. This would be a new solid waste facility, not listed in the 2007 Solid Waste Implementation Plan. SWIP requires that "proposed facilities or projects not already included in the SWIP must first be approved and adopted by each of the towns within SWIP, via an amendment to the SWIP. The Town Select Boards and the Supervisor for Glastenbury will need to adopt resolutions to amend the plan."
