Solar electricity program
ADAMS, Mass. -- Solarize Massachusetts is bringing low-cost solar electricity to Adams. Learn how homeowners and businesses can participate by attending Solar 101 at 6:30 p.m. at the Adams Free Library, G.A.R. Memorial Hall (second floor), 92 Park St.
At the Solar 101, Massachusetts Clean Energy Center (MassCEC) representatives will present an informational program about the benefits of going solar. The program will explain the options, through Solarize Adams, to either purchase a solar system at a reduced cost or enter into a lease/purchase power arrangement with no money down.

MANCHESTER -- Southern Vermont Beekeepers Association will hold its winter meeting at 7 p.m. at the Manchester and the Mountains Chamber of Commerce on Bonnet Street. Topics of the meeting will include a brief business meeting and a special presentation of Jack and Sarah Rath's trip to Ukraine to attend Apimondia, the World Beekeeping Federation meeting. They also toured Crimea and visited several beekeepers, a queen breeder and several bee therapy institutions. All are welcome.

Safe Routes by to School
SHAFTSBURY -- Shaftsbury Elementary School students, teachers and parents, along with members of the school board and select board, will be participating in the Safe Routes to School Winter Walk on Wednesday, Feb. 12, rescheduled from Feb. 5, at 8:15 a.m. Walkers will gather at T&M plastics at 251 Church St. or at Howard Park. Parking and drop off starts at 8 a.m. The walk to school is about a half-mile from either location.
Tech night in Pownal
POWNAL -- Bring your Ipad, Ipod, Apple laptop and/or android devices amd questions to the Solomon Wright Public Library from 6:30 to 8 p.m. and we will exchange tips for use of your device if possible. Please send your name and questions for registrations prior to Wednesday so we can make the most efficient use of your time and share the best practices, shortcuts, etc. This will also give us an idea of attendance numbers for seating set up.
