Health Care forum
BENNINGTON -- Questions about signing up for health insurance? Need guidance and facts on what your options are? Want information on how this will affect businesses and providers? Then come to the "Health Care and You" forum on Jan. 29 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., at the Unitarian Universalist Meeting House, 108 School St., for information and answers to many of your questions.
The presenters are: Sue Andrews, Certified Health Care Navigator with graduate degrees in public health and public policy; Joann Erenhouse, Executive Director, Bennington Area Chamber of Commerce on the business impact of health care changes; Mary Gerisch, advocate for affordable health care; Devon Green, Health Care Policy Analyst for Vermont's Agency of Administration; Kevin Robinson, Southwestern Vermont Health Center's Director of Communications. Chuck Sweetman, Co-Chair of the Bennington County Democratic Party, will serve as moderator.
This is the first in a series of forums sponsored by the Bennington County Democratic Party.

Lecture on ‘Geology of the Berkshires'

Take your child to the library day
POWNAL -- Saturday, Feb.1, Take Your Child to the Library Day will be observed at the Solomon Wright Public Library in Pownal at 97 Main St. Library cards and/or renewals as well as library information will be handed out until 11:30 a.m. Young new patrons will receive book bags and teen visitors will have a "grab bag" book basket to choose free new titles. This special Saturday will also include a family movie shown in the Lucy W. Case reading room starting at 11:30 a.m. Public access computers will also be available with our new fiber optic network connections. For more information call the library at 802-823-5400.
