New year at Second Congregational

BENNINGTON -- Begin the new year with Second Congregational Church this Sunday morning. Worship begins at 10 a.m., as we celebrate the Feast of Epiphany -- the arrival of the Magi and the "showing forth" of God's Light in the world. Following a Time for the Children in All of Us, children up through grade 5 are dismissed for Godly Play and the middle- and high-school class meets. The Chancel Choir, under the direction of Linda Johnson, will sing Don Besig's "Come, Follow That Star," and the Rev. Mary Lee-Clark's sermon is entitled, "Power to Become Children of God." The Service of Holy Communion, to which all are invited, will be celebrated.

A time of fellowship and refreshment for the whole church family follows in Webster Hall. The cabinet will meet at 11:35 to review recommendations from the Budget and Nominating committees.

Our monthly fellowship luncheon will be on January 8th this month due to the Holiday being on the first!

Please come and join friends for soup, sandwiches and conversation at noon in Webster Hall.
