Bingo in Pownal
POWNAL -- American Legion Post 90 in Pownal holds bingo on Thursdays. Doors open at 5 p.m. and bingo starts at 6:30 p.m. promptly. There will be two progressive games, and snack bar is available.
Greater Bennington Peace & Justice Center
BENNINGTON -- The November meeting for the Greater Bennington Peace & Justice Center will be held at the UU Meetinghouse on School Street. It will begin with at potluck dinner at 6:15 p.m., followed by the business agenda at 7 p.m.
Bennington Free Clinic
BENNINGTON -- The Bennington Free Clinic is held each Thursday starting at 6 p.m. This clinic is for uninsured people 18 years of age or older, who would otherwise fall through the cracks of our fractured health care system. It is located in the First Baptist Church at 601 Main St. Call 447-3700 for an appointment to be seen.
Bennington Free Clinic and Vermont Health Connect
BENNINGTON -- We will be making appointments for folks wishing to know more about Vermont Health Connect, and to sign up on Mondays and Thursdays.
The Bennington Free Clinic is providing free assistance to individuals, families and small businesses who have questions about the new Vermont insurance system, which was developed as part of the federal Affordable Care Act. A team of 10 trained Navigators is available to answer questions and guide consumers through the enrollment process.
Starting on Jan.
Navigators are available by appointment at the following times: Every Monday, 10 a.m. to noon; every Thursday, 3:30 to 5:30 p.m.; and the third Monday of each month from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Other times may be available upon request. Appointments can be made by calling (802)-447-3700 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.

Property Tax due Nov. 12
BENNINGTON -- Property taxes are due Tuesday, Nov. 12. The town office, 205 South St., will be open on Monday, Nov. 11, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and will be accepting payments during that time.
Acceptable payment methods are personal check, bank check, money order or cash. Credit cards are not accepted at the Town Office. If you wish to pay by credit card, you must call the phone number for Official Payments at the bottom of the bill or visi the officialpayments.com website.
If you require a stamped receipt, you must bring both portions of the bill with you.
