School of Sacred Heart St. Francis de Sales Bazaar
BENNINGTON -- The School of Sacred Heart St. Francis de Sales will hold its annual Harvest Bazaar from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. with free admission. Enjoy the Second Time Around Tables, home baked goods, breakfast and lunch, book sale, arts and crafts, children's items, silent auction, bingo, and raffles. Silent auction and Big Money raffle tickets will be sold until 7 p.m.
An Italian pasta dinner will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. The cost is $8 for adults and $5 for children under 12.
All Harvest Bazaar events will be held at the Sacred Heart St. Francis De Sales Parish Center, 238 West Main St. For more information, call 442-2446.
'Take a Bite Out of Homelessness'
NORTH BENNINGTON -- Bennington Coalition for the Homeless invites everyone to "Take a Bite Out of Homelessness" at the Carriage Barn at Park-McCullough House at 6 p.m.
Cost is $20 per person. Tickets will be available at the door.
There will be a buffet dinner and desserts, cash bar by JC's, live music by The BuzzSaw Boys, and a book signing by author Jed Donovan. Also planned is a silent auction with great gifts and a debt auction.

Stamford Library Book Sale
STAMFORD -- The Stamford Community Library will hold a book sale today and Sunday 1at the Stamford School. The sale, which features a wide variety of titles for all ages, is running in conjunction with the annual Stamford Seniors Craft Fair from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

BENNINGTON -- American Legion Post 13 hosts bingo has new hours. Doors open at 5 p.m. Bingo starts at 6 p.m. No one under 14 admitted.
Pancake Breakfast Sunday
ARLINGTON -- The Battenkill Grange No. 487 Pancake Breakfast will be held from 8 to 10 a.m. The menu includes pancakes, sausages, real Vermont maple syrup, homefries, sausage gravy and biscuits. Adults $6, children under 12, $3. Located on Route 313 West at the covered bridge.

BENNINGTON -- The town of Bennington project list for Oct. 21 to 25 follows.
Water Resources Department
Throughout the week, crews will be cleaning and televising sanitary sewer lines throughout town. This work may require one-lane traffic so please use caution when approaching work sites.
Water crews will begin our semi-annual flushing of fire hydrants. Please use caution when approaching work sites.
Throughout the week, crews will be replacing a failed storm drainage line on Harrison Avenue, lane restrictions will be in place.
Crews will be finishing shoulder work on new paved areas throughout the week, lane restrictions will be in place. All work will be dependent on weather conditions.
Please do not rake your leaves into the town streets and highways, it clogs the drains and presents driving and flooding hazards for the community.
The town transfer station will accept leaves for no charge. If you bring in bags you must empty them at the transfer station.
Select Board vacancies
SHAFTSBURY -- Petitions to run for the Select Board vacancies are available at the town clerk's office. The special town meeting will be held on Dec. 3. Shaftsbury voters will have the opportunity to vote by ballot for the two vacated Select Board seats.
William Obenauer's three-year term expires March 2015. Mitchell Race is currently appointed. Craig Bruder's two-year term expires March 2015. Timothy Scoggins is currently appointed.
The last day to submit a petition for office is Monday, Oct. 28, to have your name placed on the Dec. 3 ballot.
