BENNINGTON --On Oct. 18, the Green Mountain Express will celebrate Way To Go week by giving everyone a free ride on the bus.This is your chance to go toe-to-toe against carbon pollution, and discover the clean and convenient buses that will help you get where you need to go. You can pick up a bus schedule at our transit center at 215 Pleasant St., or check out one of the signs posted at many bus stops, or go online to www.greenmtncn.org.
VFW Community Food Drive
MANCHESTER -- Manchester VFW Post 6741 will conduct a Community Food Drive outside Shaw's and Price Chopper supermarkets on Oct. 18, between the hours of 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.
Annual Fall Tag and Food Sale
BENNINGTON -- The White Chapel Society of White Chapel Church will hold its annual Fall Tag and Food Sale Oct. 18 to 20.
Vendors sought for fair
BENNINGTON -- Bennington Health and Rehabilitation Center is looking for local vendors to participate in the upcoming Craft and Vendor Fair on Friday, Nov. 15 from 10-3. SHAFTSBURY -- Petitions to run for Selectboard vacancies are available at the town clerk's office. The special town meeting will be held on Dec. 3. Shaftsbury voters will have the opportunity to vote by ballot for the two vacated Selectboard seats.
William Obenauer's unexpired 3-year term to expire March of 2015. Mitchell Race is currently appointed. Craig Bruder's unexpired 2-year term to expire March of 2015. Timothy Scoggins is currently appointed.
The last day to submit a petition for office is Monday, Oct. 28, in order to have your name placed on the Dec. 3 ballot.
