Pre-school story hour
BENNINGTON -- A pre-school story hour for children 3 to 5 will be held from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. in the Rotary meeting room at the Bennington Free Library. Children will explore the world of literature through stories, songs, movement, math, science and art. For more information, call 802-442-9051.
Domestic Violence Awareness Month Film Night
BENNINGTON -- PAVE (Project Against Violent Encounters) will present a weekly series of films and documentaries at the Community College of Vermont during the month of October.
PAVE has chosen movies or documentaries to highlight issues surrounding domestic violence. The first on Oct. 16 is "Trust." This film exposes the danger of online relationships when a young girl develops a friendship with a predator she meets in a chat room and is subsequently assaulted by him. It is a shocking revelation of how predators use online resources to groom and lure victims -- a must see for young women and parents.
The film will be shown in the Community Room the Community College of Vermont to watch and discuss. Doors will open at 6 p.m. Films are from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Subject matter is suitable and worthwhile for adults and teens. PAVE will provide popcorn and snacks.
