BENNINGTON -- The Bennington Free Clinic is held each Thursday starting at 6 p.m. This clinic is for uninsured people 18 years of age or older, who would otherwise fall through the cracks of the health care system. It is located in the First Baptist Church, 601 Main St. Call 447-3700 for an appointment to be seen.
Stroke Support Group meets
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- Northern Berkshire Healthcare’s Stroke Support Group will meet at the Spitzer Center in North Adams at noon.
The stroke support group is free and open to those who are recovering from a stroke, family members, and caregivers of stroke patients. Space is limited. For more information or to register for the NBH Stroke Support Group meeting, call 413-664-5326. Tara Johnson, a Speech-Language Pathologist at North Adams Regional Hospital, will speak to the group. Her presentation will cover the swallow function, universal strategies to promote health and safety, and recent changes in how modified diets are prescribed, to improve patients’ experience.
