Clothing sale

NORTH BENNINGTON -- St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, on Houghton Street, will hold a clothing sale from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday. Outdoor Movie Night at Fisher

ARLINGTON -- Bring a blanket! Bring a friend! Bring the whole family to Outdoor Movie Night at Fisher Elementary School on Friday, May 17, with a rain date of Friday, May 24. There is no cost for the movie, but donations will be accepted for the Fisher Afterschool and Fisher Summer programs. The snack bar will open at 6:30 p.m. followed by "Looney Tune Classics" at 7 p.m. and the feature movie, "The Goonies." Refreshments will be available for purchase. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. White Chapel tag and food sale

BENNINGTON -- The White Chapel Society will hold a tag and food sale from today through Sunday with additional items available daily.

Northern Berkshire Contra Dance

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- The last contra dance of the 2012-2013 season is at 7:30 p.m. at the First Congregational Church, 906 Main St. Live calling and teaching of every dance is by Michael Kernan. The live music is led by Eric Buddington on fiddle, Ronadh Cox on bodhran and others.

No partner is necessary and all experience levels are welcome. Bring clean soft soled shoes, pot-luck cookies for the dance break and a water bottle. is $10. There is a pot-luck before the dance that begins at 6:30 and new dancers can have a beginner’s warm up at 7:15. The dance runs from 7:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.

2013 change of value notice

BENNINGTON -- Change in Appraisal of Real Estate notices were mailed out Thursday, May 16 to all affected property owners in which there were substantive changes in land area and/or improvement size (new construction/additions/demolitions/sub-divisions etc.) that took place from April 1, 2012 to April 1, 2013. In addition, properties in which an error or an omission was found that changed assessed value were also sent a notice.

Owners of properties in which no substantive changes have taken place over the last year will have their assessed valuations unchanged for the 2013 Grand List.

Property owners who feel aggrieved by their assessed value must submit a grievance letter to the Board of Listers by close of business on May 30.

Fire Department chicken barbecue

CAMBRIDGE, N.Y. -- The Cambridge Fire Department, on Main Street, will hold its annual chicken barbecure fundraiser on Saturday, May 25, from 4 to 7 p.m. (or until the food runs out). The dinner will include half a barbecured chicken, roll and butter, baked potato, coleslaw and dessert for $10. Take-out only.
