BENNINGTON -- Thanks to the response from this and other fundraisers during 2012, the Lions Club was able to increase its financial guidelines to 125 percent or less of the federal poverty level. The purpose of the club is to help people with their sight and hearing problems. However, the club has had to reject a number of requests because of these guidelines.
Therefore, we were only able to assist our friends and neighbors with 22 pairs of eyeglasses, one exam and two hearing aids at a cost of $2,485.00 since July 1. All donations are distributed in our local area of Bennington, Woodford and Pownal.
