Bennington Free Clinic
BENNINGTON -- The Bennington Free Clinic is held each Thursday starting at 6 p.m. This clinic is for uninsured people 18 years of age or older, who would other wise fall through the cracks of our fractured health care system. BENNINGTON -- From 4 to 6 p.m. the Bennington Early Childhood Center will host a school fair.
Many local private and public schools are sending representatives to answer questions and distribute information about their kindergarten programs. All are welcome to attend. Authors at Water St. Books

Petitions to run for office in Shaftsbury
SHAFTSBURY -- Petitions to run for local office are available at the Shaftsbury Town Clerk's office for the following positions: selectboard, moderator, delinquent tax collector, lister, first and second constable, grand juror, auditor, trustee of public funds and town agent. There are also two open positions on the Shaftsbury School Board.
Petitions must be received no later than Monday, Jan. 28, in order to have your name placed on the March 5 ballot.
Interfaith Action Initiative discusses Newtown tragedy
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- The Northern Berkshire Interfaith Action Initiative will meet on Friday, Jan. 18, at 10 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of North Adams (use Eagle Street entrance).
Following introductions, announcements, a moment of silent prayer and faith sharing, we will discuss the tragedy at the Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn., from a faith perspective.
All are welcome to come and share their thoughts and feelings in an informal and respectful discussion on how, in the aftermath of this horrible event, we view our place in the world, our relations to others, our thoughts about good and evil, and our vision of and relationship with God. The Northern Berkshire Interfaith Action Initiative is a group of people of various faiths working together with others of good will to serve the community.
