Mahar & Son Funeral Home establishes Manchester facility

MANCHESTER CENTER -- On September 1, 2012 the Mahar & Son Funeral Home and Cremation Service was established at 385 Bonnet Street in Manchester Center.

The new funeral home is an extension of the Mahar & Son Funeral Home that was established in Bennington in 1935 by Edward and Olga Mahar, grandparents of the current owners, John and Trisha Mahar.

"We had been looking for a location in Manchester for quite some time and are very excited to finally be able to offer our services to families in the Manchester area at our own facility" said John Mahar. A full service funeral facility, the new funeral home offers both cremation and traditional funeral services, along with monument sales and services and limousine rentals. "Our goal is to offer the best possible service at a reasonable price".

A third generation funeral home owner, Mahar is proud of his family's longevity in the funeral profession. "Both my grandfather and my father spent their entire careers in funeral service and we are the only funeral home in southwestern Vermont to have that kind of community longevity."
