Senior Center activities

BENNINGTON -- Bennington Senior Center activities for Thursday will include bone builders from 10 to 11:30 a.m.; quilting from 1to 3 p.m.; beginning belly dance from 5 to 7:30 p.m.; and a trip to Radio City from 7 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Bingo at Pownal Legion

POWNAL -- Pownal American Legion Post No. 90 offers bingo every Thursday evening. Doors and concession open at 5 p.m. There will be 30 games including three progressive jackpots, door prizes, raffles, and family fun.

Bennington Free Clinic

BENNINGTON -- The Bennington Free Clinic is held each Thursday starting at 6 p.m. This clinic is for uninsured people 18 or older, who would other wise fall through the cracks of our fractured health care system. It is located in the First Baptist church at 601 Main St. Call 447-3700 for an appointment to be seen.

Announcements

New board of directors at CAT-TV

BENNINGTON -- Lisa M. Byer, executive director of Catamount Access Television, recently announced the results of the elections held for the board of directors.

Newly elected to the board were Daryl Kenny, and Lindy Lynch. Anne Lamy Mook was re-elected for her second term on the board. Frank Barnes and Corey Mears were appointed to the board.

Kenny, is a long time member of Oldcastle Theatre Company, and has been an actor and director most of her adult life. She has also worked in higher education at MCLA and Southern Vermont College. She is currently coordinator of PR and corporate marketing for the ORVIS Company in Sunderland. Daryl and her husband, Victor Callirgos, live in Bennington.

Lynch, of North Bennington, was appointed to the CAT-TV board a year ago and decided to run for her first full year term. She and her husband Kevin have owned and operated Kevin’s Sports Pub in North Bennington. Lindy wears many hats including president of the Bennington Chamber of Commerce board of which she has been a member for years, is active on the Park McCullough House board and president of the Bennington Rotary Club.

Mook has served as secretary for the CAT-TV board of directors for two years, and was recently elected as the president of the board. She has lived in Bennington for over thirty years, working in the areas of education, recreation, library development and community service. She currently is a State Representative serving Bennington District 2-2.

Barnes, of Bennington, is currently Director of Technology for the Southwest Vermont Supervisory Union. He, along with his business partner Andre Maquera operate West Street Digital recording studio in Fairfield.

Mears, a graduate of Arlington Memorial High School, graduated from St. Michael’s College in 2002 and is vice president at Wills Insurance Agency.
