Senior Center activities

BENNINGTON -- Bennington Senior Center activities will include ceramics from 9 to 11 a.m.; oil painting from 9 a.m. to noon; and bingo from 1 to 3 p.m. Craft and vendor fair

BENNINGTON -- Bennington Health and Rehabilitation Center will hold a craft and vendor fair from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and will be open to the staff, residents and community. Snowball Bazaar today and Saturday

BENNINGTON -- Second Congregational Church, on Hillside Street, will present the annual Snowball Bazaar today from 6 to 8:30 p.m. and on Saturday, Dec. 1, from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Featured will be Christmas wreaths and centerpieces, a huge tag sale, crafts, baked goods, homemade desserts and luncheon, and a silent auction of antique, vintage and new items.

Fundraiser for Hoyt-Rabideau family

POWNAL -- A fundraiser will be held for Jason and Jessica Hoyt-Rabideau, and their infant daughter, Laney, on Friday, Dec. 7 from 4 to 7 p.m. Laney was born with a serious heart defect that will require three surgeries and serious medical attention over the next three years. This fundraiser, at the Pownal Elementary School, will feature a pasta dinner, bake sale, Chinese auction, fish bowl, bouncy house and music. Tickets for the dinner are available through family, friends and Karen Theoret, Jean Burzimati and Colleen Frangella at the Pownal Elementary School. The cost is $7 for adults, $3.50 for children and $20 for a family of four.

POWNAL -- Vermont’s Civil War photographer will be the subject of a free presentation on Sunday, Dec. 3, at the Solomon Wright Public Library.

Donald Wickman, author of the award winning "A Very Fine Appearance: the Vermont Civil War photographs of George Houghton, with slides and discussion will examine Houghton’s life and work.

The program will begin at 1:30 p.m. and is sponsored by the Solomon Wright Public Library. Question and answer period will follow. All are welcome. Call 823-5400 for information.
