BENNINGTON -- Bingo is held at the Bennington Moose Lodge every Wednesday. Doors open at 5 p.m., and food will be available. There will be a $500 "Red Special."
Special meeting for the Arlington Lions Club
ARLINGTON -- The present members of the Arlington Lions Club would like to continue the important work that was started over 50 years ago. To do so, new ideas and members are needed. To find out more about Lions International and the Arlington Lions Club, a special meeting will be held at 7 p.m. at the Arlington Community Center. Everyone is invited to come and share ideas that can help the Arlington Lions Club serve the community better or if they would like to become a member. Refreshments will be served. Snowball Bazaar at Second Congregational Church
BENNINGTON --The Snowball Bazaar will be held Friday and Saturday at Second Congregational Church on Hillside Street, from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Friday, and from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday.

Vermont Historian at Pownal Library Dec. 3
POWNAL -- Vermont’s Civil War photographer will be the subject of a free presentation on Sunday, Dec. 2, at the Solomon Wright Public Library.
Donald Wickman , author of the award-winning "A Very Fine Appearance: the Vermont Civil War Photographs of George Houghton," with slides and discussion will examine Houghton’s life and work. He will show images of the Vermont soldiers in the field and camp that brought the war home to the hills, farms and families of Vermont. Wickman has also authored or edited several other Civil War-related books. The program will be held at 1:30 p.m. and is sponsored by the Solomon Wright Public Library. Fund Raiser for Harry Hyatt,
BENNINGTON -- Come help to raise money for Harry Hyatt, (Joyce Novotny’s son). He fell off a roof years ago and broke his back, which left him wheelchair-bound for the rest of his life. He is having trouble trying to acquire reliable transportation for the daily needs of life. There will be a spaghetti dinner and Chinese auction held at The Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #1861 on Sunday, Dec. 9, from 4 to 7 p.m. Open to public; price, $8. There will be music and dance after dinner.
On Wednesday, Dec. 12, Pizza Hut will do a Proceeds Night fundraiser, and 20 percent will go towards his fund when you bring a copy of the event flyer.

BENNINGTON -- Bennington Free Library has just announced the cancellation of The Money Smart Child Workshop which was scheduled for Tuesday, Dec. 4, at the Library. The instructor is ill and is not able to travel. The workshop will be rescheduled in January or February.
