Gulley earns a doctorate of physical therapy
BELLINGHAM, Wash. -- Jason Gulley earned a doctorate of physical therapy from the University of South Dakota during their 2012 commencement exercises. Jason had earlier attained his master’s of physical therapy in 2005 from the University of Vermont, and his bachelor’s in sports medicine from Norwich University in 2002.
Jason currently is the director of rehabilitation of an outpatient orthopedic clinic located in Bellingham Wash. A 1998 graduate of Mount Anthony Union High School, Jason is the son of Robert E. Gulley Jr. and Peggy Gulley.
Local resident named to dean’s list at RIT
ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Zachariah Kraenzle, of North Bennington, Vt., has been named to the dean’s list for the third quarter at Rochester Institute of Technology. A fifth year student in RIT’s College of Applied Science and Technology, Kraenzle is studying mechanical engineering technology. The son of Judy and Jeffrey Kraenzle of North Bennington, Vt., he is a 2008 graduate of Mount Anthony Union High School.
Broome graduates with honors from SVC
BENNINGTON -- Heather Broome of Cambridge, N.Y., graduated cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Southern Vermont College this May. Broome is a graduate of Crest High School in Shelby, N.C., and she is the mother of Brianna Broome and daughter of Dorothy Buckley of Cambridge, N.Y. This summer, Broome will be continuing her education in a master’s degree program in family nurse practitioner at Sage College.
Local student named to dean’s list
UTICA, N.Y. -- Danielle M. Pelletier, a nursing major, of Petersburg, made the spring 2012 dean’s list at Utica College.
Bashevkin wins award from Astronaut Scholarship Foundation
KENNEDY SPACE CENTER, Fla. -- The Astronaut Scholarship Foundation has awarded $220,000 in college scholarships for the 2012-2013 academic year. Space heroes from the early days of NASA through the Space Shuttle program have chosen 22 of the best and brightest students majoring in science, technology, engineeting and math to receive $10,000 each to support their studies
Locally, Samuel Bashevkin, Tufts University, biology major. Bashevkin is a 2010 graduate of Mount Anthony Union High School.
"Our Astronaut Scholars are some of the best students in the country," said Apollo 16 moon walker and ASF Chairman Charlie Duke.
Nicolle Reed makes Cazenovia College dean’s list
CAZENOVIA, N.Y. -- Nicolle L. Reed, of Arlington, Vt., was named to the 2012 spring semester dean’s list at Cazenovia College. Reed is a sophomore. She is a graduate of Arlington Memorial High School.
Whitman receives bachelor’s degree
ONEONTA, N.Y. -- Sayde A. Whitman received a bachelors of arts degree in history from Hartwick College on May 26. She was a four year starter on the Hartwick Women’s Soccer Team and scholar athlete. She is the daughter of Curtis and Jane Whitman of White Creek.
Francis named to dean’s list at RIT
ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Evan Francis of Bennington has been named to the dean’s list for the first, second and third quarter at Rochester, N.Y. Institute of Technology. A sophomore year student in RIT’s B. Thomas Golisano College of Computing and Information Sciences, Francis is studying new media interactive development. Francis, son of Monique Geannelis and Peter Francis, and step-son of Peter Geannelis, is a 2010 graduate of Mount Anthony Union High School.
Thomas Stevens named to dean’s list
ALBANY, NY -- Thomas Stevens of Manchester Center, Vt., son of Betty Wolcott of Castleton, Vt., has been named to the dean’s list for the winter semester at Bryant and Stratton College. He is majoring in the medical assisting program.
Mcmanigle named to provost list at SVC
BENNINGTON -- Heather Mcmanigle of Bennington has been named to the provost list for Spring 2012 at Southern Vermont College in Bennington. The provost list recognizes full-time students who have earned a minimum grade-point average of 3. 25 during the semester.
Mcmanigle is a junior majoring in criminal justice. Mcmanigle is a graduate of Mount Anthony Union High School, and she is the daughter of Tina and James Mathers of Bennington.
Molly Thompson named to commendation list at Southern Vermont College
BENNINGTON -- Molly Thompson of Bennington has been named to the commendation list for Spring 2012 at Southern Vermont College in Bennington. Thompson is a junior majoring in psychology. She is a graduate of Mount Anthony Union High School and the daughter of Mary Webb and Perle Webb, Jr., of Bennington.
