Breakfast to benefit

Operation Christmas Child

HOOSICK, N.Y. -- The First Baptist Church of Hoosick, 648 South St., will serve a breakfast today from 7:30 to 10:30 a.m. Pancakes, sausage, coffee, and juice will be served for a cost of $5. All profits will benefit Operation Christmas Child, a ministry of Samaritan’s Purse headed by CEO Franklin Graham.

This ministry, begun in 1993, has sent more than 68 million shoe boxes to more than 130 countries around the world. Needy children receive these boxes filled with small toys, school supplies, hygiene items, and various other gifts. To many children this will be the first gift they have ever received. Each box also contains a Christian message telling children about Jesus Christ.

Thousands of churches, schools, and families are now purchasing items and packing their shoe boxes so that needy children around the world may have reason to rejoice because of Operation Christmas Child. Supporting the breakfast on Nov. 7 will aid Samaritan’s Purse in this ministry. Tickets may be purchased at the door. For inquiries, call the church office at 518-686-7704.
