In a recent column by the Rev. David J. Bort, he said, "Clergy preaching that the name of God defines marriage as between one man and one woman are wrong."

Whose record is spoken of here? David Bort’s or God’s? I will speak on the Biblical record only, and no I do not hate homosexuals, but I must agree with God and not Barack Hussein Obama, whom Rev. Bort agrees with.

I will not bore him with the Genesis Biblical account of marriage in Genesis, Chapter 2, verses 23 and 24, consisting of a man and a woman.

Or, after the flood, when it was just Noah, his wife, and his two sons (discounting the animals) that God said, "And God blessed Noah and his sons, and said unto them, Be fruitful and multiply, and replenish the earth." Genesis 9:1 Pretty difficult for homosexuals to replenish anything.

And I would be remiss to discount the greatest disaster of all time, outside of the flood, when God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah, the words God spoke to Abraham, in Genesis Chapter 18 verse 20 and 21 "And the Lord said, Because the cry of Sodom and Gomorrah is great and because their sin is very grievous; I will go down now and see whether they have done altogether according to the cry of it which is come unto me; and if not, I will know."

We all know what happened. God destroyed that city and the surrounding area and all of the people except for Lot and his two daughters and Lot’s wife were destroyed. Why? The "grievous sin" was homosexuality as clearly seen by the men in that city favoring men over woman.

Is it any wonder that we derive the words Sodomy and Gonorrhea from this Biblical account? Disease, prevalent today, just as it was then.

I could bore one perhaps with Old Testament (before Christ came) of laws and punishment for homosexuality, much written for the "holy nation" of Israel to remain holy, but let’s go to an area in the New Testament, written for us, you and me, written by the Apostle Paul, inspired by God in the book of Romans Chapter 1 verses 18-32.

Powerful.

Ro 1:18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; Ro 1:19 Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath showed it unto them.

Ro 1:20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: Ro 1:21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.

Ro 1:22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, Ro 1:23 And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things. Ro 1:24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonor their own bodies between themselves: Ro 1:25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.

Ro 1:26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: Ro 1:27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompense of their error which was meet. Ro 1:28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; Ro 1:29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, Ro 1:30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, Ro 1:31 Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful: Ro 1:32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

I could go on and on; however since the taking out of prayer in our schools in 1963, the removal of the 10 Commandments in our public buildings and courthouses, the removal of prayer in our special school services such as graduations, the removal of Jesus name by our Chaplain military, and now a president who declares homosexuality is right, it does not surprise me that many "Reverends" like David J. Bort come along and call true Bible Believers, are just like Pharisees and scribes of Jesus’s day.

Add to this the many works they teach to get to Heaven, when the Bible teaches that Jesus Christ is the only way, John chapter 14, verse 6, it is no wonder that the true Christian and God are considered narrow-minded by many in the cult of the 21st century that we find ourselves.

And yes, I am a seminary graduate and a true Christian by God’s standards, and certainly far from a Pharisee’s beliefs or man-made standards as taught in our pulpits today.
