MANCHESTER (AP) - The man charged with killing a Manchester golf professional in 1986 has been ordered back to Vermont to face trial.

Fifty-four-year-old David Allan Morrison is charged with first-degree aggravated murder. According to published reports, 36-year old Sarah Hunter went missing in September 1986 and her body, strangled and sexually assaulted, was found two months later.

Authorities announced they were going to charge Morrison in 2012 and expected him to come to Vermont within three months, but Morrison refused to sign an extradition waiver. However, a California judge granted the extradition this week.

Morrison will have 30 days to request review of the decision. Bennington County State's Attorney Erica Marthage says she might get notice Friday on how quickly Vermont can expect to take Morrison into custody.
