MONTPELIER (AP) - A Republican lawmaker from Stowe says she's considering a possible bid to unseat two-term incumbent Vermont Gov. Peter Shumlin.
Rep. Heidi Scheuermann says she's talking to supporters around the state and doing what she terms due diligence on a possible run against the Democratic governor.
Scheuermann says she expects her campaign, if she decides to launch one, would focus on what she sees as continued weakness in Vermont's economy; Shumlin's push for a universal, state-backed health care system; and possible changes to Vermont's school property tax system.
A Shumlin aide had no immediate response to Scheuermann's comments.
