HUBBARDTON (AP) - A Vermont man has been charged with two counts of second-degree murder after police found two men apparently shot to death outside of his home in the town of Hubbardton.

Police responding to a 911 call on Wednesday afternoon found the bodies and searched for the resident of the home, identified as 70-year-old Sylvester Labartino. They found him in his car traveling north on Route 30 in the town of Castleton.

Labartino was arrested early Thursday and jailed at the Marble Valley Regional Correctional Facility. He was scheduled to be arraigned at 12:30 p.m.

Police are asking for anyone who observed the vehicle on Wednesday afternoon to contact them.

The names of the men have not been released pending positive identification at the medical examiner's office.
