ADDISON (AP) - There have been a number of accidents on snow-covered, slippery roads in Vermont.

Vermont State Police said about 7 p.m. Tuesday, a driver crossed the center line of Route 22A in Addison; his sedan collided with a van. The driver of the sedan, 46-year-old Gene Oliver of Bridport, died at the scene. The other driver was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. State police said the road was slippery at the time.

Police said snow and icy conditions led to a two-vehicle crash on U.S. Route 7 in Ferrisburgh in which a driver lost control, crossed the center line and struck an oncoming vehicle. Both drivers suffered leg fractures.

A tractor-trailer jack-knifed in Searsburg, forcing the closure of Rt. 9 for several hours, Tuesday evening. Once it was cleared up, a tractor-trailer issues at the other end of Rt. 9, this time in West Brattleboro, forced the closure of that end of the road for several hours.
