WOODFORD - Minor injuries were reported after a driver ran off Route 9 into a tree on Thursday afternoon near Woodford State Park.
Vermont State Police responded to the report of a one-vehicle accident on Route 9 at approximately 4 p.m. Amanda J. Davis, 30, of Searsburg, was driving with three small children in her vehicle when her car drifted off the road and collided with two guardrails and then a tree, according to a police report. The road conditions were dry and the weather clear at the time of the crash, per the report.
Davis, who was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision, suffered a small cut to her forehead. The children, who were all properly seat-belted, suffered no injuries. All parties were transported to Southern Vermont Medical Center by Bennington Rescue for evaluation.
Davis' car sustained passenger-side front-end damage and damage all along the driver's side, police said.
Bennington Fire Department was on scene when officers arrived. Also assisting at the scene was Bennington Rescue Squad.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
