BENNINGTON -- Customers faithful to all things Apple will be pleased to learn of Benmont Avenue's newest addition, Brown Computer Solutions.

The authorized Apple retailer will carry a full line of Apple products, including iPads, iPods, laptops, and desktops, as well as accessories, and provide the full tech support services of any Apple Genius Bar.

Patrick Brown, owner and president of Brown Computer Solutions, made the decision to open up shop in Bennington after 15 successful years running Brown Computer Solutions in nearby Brattleboro.

Brown, an entrepreneur to the core, started his computer business at the ripe age of 16, after spending summers at his Aunt's horse farm, photographing trail riders and making and selling T-shirts to fund his technology addiction.

"I really wanted a computer so I needed to find a way to make that happen," he said. "My first computer was an Apple Performa 575 back in ‘93. Then I bought a printer and a digital camera," he remembered. "Once I bought them, I used them as tools to grow my business, not as toys. I guess the entrepreneur in me came out at a young age."

Now, at 32 years old, Brown is anxious to open the doors of his second store to the Bennington community and, hopefully, make some lives a bit easier.

"Customers who need any kind of Apple service in this area are forced to travel to Albany, Rutland or Brattleboro," said Brown. "So, I'm happy to provide service for them that's closer to home."

Brown purchased the building at 166 Benmont Ave. back in June and has spent a solid month completely renovating its interior with freshly painted walls, handmade shelving units and brand new carpeting.

"It's certainly interesting being in a new town," Brown said of his store's new location. "Marketing is going to be very important because I want to build the kind of trust here with my new customers as I have with my Brattleboro customers."

On Saturday, Aug, 3, Brown Computer Solutions will celebrate their grand opening from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. with free food and giveaways totaling more than $2K in both Apple and third party products.

Brown added that he will be offering special grand opening promotions and deals exclusive to the business's new location. Apple enthusiasts and the like are welcome and encouraged to attend.

Visit Brown Computer Solutions at 116 Benmont Ave. on weekdays between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. and Saturdays between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.
