HOOSICK, N.Y. - Authorities say unsafe speed was a contributing factor to a fatal single-vehicle crash Monday on Johnson Hill Road.

Joede Wilbur, 26, of Greenwich, was found deceased at the scene by first responders, according to state police. Two young children who were in the Ford pickup at the time of the crash were not seriously injured, and police were withholding their identities as of Tuesday. The crash was reported at 2:17 p.m.

Police said Wilbur was traveling east when her vehicle hit a section of frost-covered pavement causing her to lose control and go off the south shoulder. Wilbur then overcorrected and went off the north shoulder of the road, where the truck overturned twice before coming to a stop.

Police said they believe Wilbur was traveling at an unsafe speed given the road conditions. There were no witnesses to the crash and anyone who may have information is asked to call state police.
