UPDATE: Crash involves three vehicles

HOOSICK, N.Y. - Police said a three-car crash on Route 7 this morning sent as many people to the hospital.

According to a release from the Rensselaer County Sheriff's Office, at 6:48 a.m. Near Babcock Lake Road, a vehicle rear-ended another, causing them both to crash. A third vehicle then collided with the first two. Police said a 48-year-old woman was taken to Albany Medical Center with head and hip injuries. An 18-year-old and a 13-year-old, who were in the third vehicle, were taken to Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington, Vt. Police said no other injuries were reported and the conditions of those taken to the hospital are not currently known. Police did not release any names of those involved or any other identifying information.

Police from North Greenbush are assisting the Sheriff's Department with reconstructing the crash. According to the Sheriff's Office, the investigation will continue and charges may be filed. They said some drivers mentioned sunlight being a factor.
